Our Community

Welcome to Barrington

The Village of Barrington serves as the hub of activity for the 90-square-mile Barrington area, which consists of 7 independent villages and more than 43,000 residents.

The Metra stops right in the Village Center, easily connecting you to the city of Chicago.

So much to do.

You can stroll the Village Center, which is home to the historic Catlow Theater and surrounded by the largest residential historic district in the state of Illinois. Stop to eat at fine restaurants or quaint shops at The Arboretum of South Barrington, the Village Center or Park Town Centre.

Attend a wide variety of family-oriented events throughout the year, from a week-long Fourth of July Festival to weekly Farmers’ Markets and Cruise Nights. Bike, jog or play at Ron Beese Park, bird watch and hike at Baker’s Lake Nature Preserve, or simply enjoy a quiet stroll through the many open spaces.
